Last Full Day in Japan

We spent the morning sleeping and relaxing after getting too little sleep before Disneyland.

We made it to the train station in the middle of Rush hour and were forced to use advanced train skills to board crowded trains (be tall enough to see empty spots and pushy enough to take them).

We had booked a petting zoo cafe with a bunch of animals we've never touched before and Henry was super excited.

The street we had to walk down in Harajuku was intense and after being in Osaka during a festival, that's saying something. We fought through the crowd and made our appointment.

The zoo was clean, if a little stinky, and the animals were cute and well taken care of. They could have used more space, but I assume Tokyo will always have that statement for animals (even people).

We got to hold a variety of ferrets, a lesser hedgehog, a regular hedgehog, and a meerkat.

We also got to pet a fennec fox and a capybara.

The ferrets were very curious and pushy, wanting snacks, which we provided, and to get off of our laps, which we tried to prevent.

The lesser hedgehog was sleepy and just hung out in our hands.

The regular hedgehog was a little grumpy and tried to bite our gloves until we turned him over. After that, he was more chill, but I see why they recommended gloves.

The meerkat was chill, but honked a bunch. It had wiry fur and smelled like old cheese.

The fennec fox was super super soft. It was very sleepy and didn't mind being petted, but wasn't interested in being held.

Lastly, the capybara was as big as imagined and very chill. We feed it apples and cucumbers and it liked being petted and scritched. We all spent time hanging out with her and she seemed pleased enough. It had hair a lot like a pig, and weird webbed toes.

After the zoo, we headed to a karaoke room and sung our hearts out to American classics like imagine dragons and Elvis. The kids enjoyed the floats they got, and we enjoyed afternoon cocktails. It was some of the best karaoke fun I've had.

We headed to Kura sushi for our last dinner, an easy choice as it was next door. It was the usual affair, conveyors and plates, silly games, and happy kids. It's so cheap here. We spent about 50$ to feed the whole family.

We headed home, packed up all of our belongings and souvenirs, and went to bed early. Tomorrow will be 2 days long, so we're expecting some rough times. Wish us luck!
