Twenty Seven

Aug 15, 2007·2 min read·

It's been an odd year. I now most years are odd in their ways, but some years are more odd than others. This year has seen a number of subtle changes that, when viewed in hindsight, add up to something quite a bit different than where I expected to be.

WordsWorth's been steadily getting better. We've had our down moments, but there's something nice about watching it grow. My parents say that I was too stubborn to listen when I got the business. I think they're right. I was gonna do it myself, one way or another, and I guess, I just took the fast track. Hard to know what you don't know, I guess.

The Pickleball Store is growing by leaps and bounds. Thanks to Matt's advanced google skills, we're now processing 2-3 times as many orders as last year. For April, May, June, and July, we had consecutive best months ever. Things may just be starting to slow down, but we're hoping to weather it till the xmas season starts.

Love hasn't been to kind to me the last year. One small twitterpation with a girl named Morgan, one relationship with a girl named Eli. Both ended amiably, and I got some decent friends out of the deal. What happens from here is anyone's guess. I have hope, though, and hope is fun.

Speaking of Eli, go and check out her aerial acrobatics! She's been doing this tissue thing for a while now, and she's getting pretty good at it. The blog section has some decent pics.

Steve and Lesley got married, becoming the first of my really close friends to tie the knot. The wedding was a lot of fun, and they looked really happy. I wonder who'll be next.

So what does my 28th year hold in store? A lot of promise, I think. I've been feeling like my life is building up steam. I just hope I have enough weight behind it to steer properly. I know the direction I want to go, all I have to do is impose my will upon life and wait for it to take me there. I'm going to Foster City this weekend, if you're around, you should drop me a line and we'll do food.

And with that, I'm off to bed. The other night, I dreamt I had about 40 piercings lining the inside of my arms.
