Elizabeth and more

Jul 11, 2007·2 min read·

So it's been a while since I've posted. I've been a busy little bee, not the kind who longs for his sister and seems to be solely responsible for the downfall of the Roman empire, but busy nonetheless.

I'm now officially dating a girl named Elizabeth. She's an aerial acrobat and a gym instructor, was born on Sept 11, and has a lot of spunk. The more I get to know her, the more I seem to like her. Because most or all of you know me, you've gotta be asking, "what's the catch" and, of course, she lives in Costa Mesa, about 220 miles from me as the crow flies.

I had been uncertain about askin her to be my steady cause of the distance, but I guess I just couldn't resist. We went to High Times, which is a wine place, oddly, and picked up 2 bottles of the highest-rated port wine ever, 2 chocolate bars, and then headed to the beach. We caught the tail end of the sunset, watched the people, listened to the waves and I asked her out. I'm always amazed how few couples have no idea when they started being boyfriend and girlfriend. I tend to etch these things in stone and memory.

The distance is alleviated somewhat by Matt's new squeeze living in Claremont, a scant 45 minutes from Costa Mesa, so we make trips frequently.

On other horizons, I'm currently engaged in the nerdiest bet ever with Mandy. We both play World of Warcraft and she's been bitching about her character never getting higher in level. So, to motivate her, I offered a bet. She's started at level 44 and I've started at 0. Whoever gets to level 60 first wins. The stakes? She has to by me dinner if I win, and if she wins I'm buying her a ticket to Disneyland. It's been almost 3 weeks, and I'm lvl 26 and she's 48. Her internet's down, too, so she's hindered. Ha!

My parents are coming to SLO from out of town for almost a month of visiting. I'm actually really looking forward to it. Being on constant allergy medication because of our dogs has led to me tolerating animals quite well from an allergen perspective. I may even survive a trip to their rig.

Steve's bachelor party is this weekend, and I'm hoping to keep the shenanigans to a minimum, but I do hope we get into a little bit of trouble. What fun is being a bachelor if you can't let loose a little. Maybe I'll recommend we go get all sickhouse wasted and see what kind of fun we can have. It's been a long time for me.
