Osaka 2, the Osakanning

We awoke after the festival and packed up to leave the festival area, having seen most of what was to be offered in that side of Osaka.

We've become much more capable at navigating trains in Japan. We understand how Google maps work here, we know how to use the Google map data to navigate. Things are way easier.

This means that small travel days like this one are super easy now. We left our Airbnb in the northern district of Osaka and headed South towards the neon district.

We knew it would be a difficult timing problem as our check out was 10 am and our check in was at 4 pm. Finding a place to kill 6 hours with everything in our backs seemed difficult.

We tried to check in anyway, which didn't work, do we found a bag drop point through an app. It was about 4 minutes from the hotel and not to expensive even for all 5 of our bags.

That done, we started to wander the streets of Nipponbashi looking for opportunities for attacks, knick-knacks, and snacks.

We grabbed breakfast at a little one-woman cafe and ate omurice and beef bowls while drinking weird mint-chocolate milk.

Henry lost his MP3 player in the Lyft to SFO so we've been looking for a replacement. With this being the electronics district in Japan, we hoped for opportunities. Instead, we got a full-blown 90s style experience of walking into electronics stores and seeing actual products on shelves. It was like a Best Buy in my memories.

We also headed into a bunch of pokemon stores and anime / manga stores, but nobody really found anything great yet.

Both Elizabeth and I weren't feeling well, so when the hotel opened, we set up shop, got the AC working, got take out, and put on a movie for the kids. We ate dinner and relaxed in the room, eventually drifting off to sleep.
