Bridal Veil Falls and the Hamilton Gardens

Oct 23, 2017·by Morgan Engel·1 min read·Hamilton, New Zealand·

We woke up at Raglan, made coffee, and emptied the RV. Then we headed toward Hamilton.

It was a rainy day, and also we could tell the scenery was different than other places we've been. The trees were different and the general shape of the ground was too.

We saw a sign for Bridal Veil Falls.

One of the cool things about this waterfall park in particular was that you started at the top and then could hike down all the way to the bottom. An impressive feat considering it's one of the tallest waterfalls in New Zealand.

We hiked down in the rain, and hiked back up in the rain.

We went to Hamilton and saw the gardens, then slept in the parking lot of the Te Kauwhata rugby field.

It always feels strange parking our RV somewhere designed for other things. We were nice to the rugby field, and there were other people parked here, too, but I always keep expecting someone to come out and yell at us for being in the wrong place. It's nice that it's never happened.
